By A famous French man doing extreme sports died after falling from the 68th floor of a Hong Kong housing complex. The man named Remi Lucidi died because he fell while climbing the Tregunter tower complex as reported by the South China Morning Post.
Quoting from the New York Post page, Monday (31/7/2023), Lucidi, known online as Remi Enigma, was declared dead at the scene. According to Hongkong officials, Lucidi arrived at the building around 6pm and told the security guard that he was visiting a friend on the 40th floor.
A security guard attempted to arrest Lucidi after the alleged friend confirmed he did not know Lucidi, but by then the stuntman had already boarded the elevator. Security footage then saw Lucidi arriving at the 49th floor and once again taking the stairs upstairs to climb the building.
According to officers chasing Lucidi, they found a hatch leading to an open roof, but he was nowhere to be seen. Police said the man was last seen alive at 7:38 pm. At that time, he knocked on the window of the complex penthouse, prompting a maid to call the police.
An unidentified source said that the police believed Lucidi was trapped outside the penthouse. He banged on the window for help before the unfortunate tragedy occurred. A source close to the incident revealed that police found a Lucidi camera at the scene and it contained videos of other death-defying acts.
Police have not issued an official cause of death. According to Gurjit Kaur, the owner of the hostel where Lucidi was reportedly staying, the guest was a “friendly and humble man”.
“He is healthy, fit and happy-looking,” Kaur told a news outlet. He continued, “I feel very sad.”
A worker at the hostel claimed he had spoken to Lucidi several times before his death and that he had told him the man was on holiday in Hong Kong. “He told me he was going to climb the mountain when I asked him where he was going.
“He said he wanted to hike a lot when he was here,” said the worker.
Several Lucidi fans wrote comments on the man’s personal social media to express their sadness. “Rip my brother,” said one Instagram follower.
“Sad news that no one wants to hear about fellow explorers,” continued another.
“Don’t want to believe, Remi doesn’t want to believe it,” said another.
“Calm down guys, I love you,” wrote another.
“You will never leave us, you are unique,” said another netizen.
